Korean wins over Chinese
Women’s +75kg: The battle in the ladies’ superheavyweight in Santo Domingo will probably be remembered for a long time. Since Doha, the defending champion Jang Mi-Ran (KOR) had become world record holder when she modified the mark from 305kg to 318kg. This time again, she was facing Mu Shuangshuang of China, runner-up to the Korean last year.
Although Jang snatched 136kg, Mu was in the lead by 1 kilo. In the clean and jerk the two women fought fiercely for the gold, in which neither one made any mistakes. Using good tactics, the Korean caught up with her Chinese opponent, reaching 314kg as well, with lighter bodyweight deciding in favour of Jang.
