Women’s +75 kg: a real one woman show

Jang Miran (KOR) was the silver medalist in Athens and from that time on the most outstanding lifter in this class. This time she didn’t let any lifter come close to her performance. Finally she set a new world record of 140kg for the snatch, then went on to set a new world record of 186kg for the clean and jerk and won the final with a new world record of total weight of 326kg. She wrote her name five times on the world record list and seven times on the Olympic record list.

 

Olha Korobka (UKR) Maria Grabovetskaya (KAZ)

2006 and 2007 WC bronze medalist Olha Korobka (UKR) ranked second with a total weight of 277kg, 49kg less than Jang. 21 year old Maria Grabovetskaya (KAZ) placed third with a total weight of 270kg.
