MOC to commemorate Olympic Day in Mzimba
Malawi Olympic Committee (MOC) will commemorate this year’s Olympic Day in Mzimba on Saturday with a number of sporting activities.
The Olympic Day is commemorated on June 23 every year worldwide among its 205 members including Malawi.
It is the day which the modern Olympics were revived by Frenchman Pierre de Courbetin in 1894.
A press release from MOC stated that the celebrations would be held at Chinkusa Ground with men and women football, volleyball, netball, gymnastics, weightlifting, table tennis, cycling race and the traditional and main event, 10km fun run. (BY PATRICK LUNDA)
