Mediterranean Games 1st day: Tunisian and Turkish weightlifter wins 2-2 gold medals
The Tunisian weightlifter El Maoui Khalil has given Tunisia 2 gold medals at the 2009 Pescara Mediterranean games held in the Italian city from June 26 through July 5, 2009.
El Maoui Khalil came first in the 56 kg category in the snatch event, lifting 121 kg at the Pescara Sports Stadium during the first day of the competition. He later won his second gold medal by lifting 145 kg in the clean and jerk event. Both results are Mediterranean records.
