Nigeria Weightlifting Federation calls 21 lifters to camp
The Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF) has selected a total of 21 junior weight lifters that will resume camping immediately for the Youth Olympic Games qualifiers holding in Egypt from March 19-27.
The federation after a three-day trials held at the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos picked seven males and fourteen women lifters. The lifters resume camping latest today at the National Institute for Sports, National Stadium, Lagos.
Meanwhile, the President of NWF, Chimdi Ejiogu who was impressed at the large turn out of lifters at the trials promised that his administration would provide a level playing ground for all lifters to prove themselves.
He also promised that there will be regular championship for lifters beginning from the month of June. (By Solomon Nwoke)
