Youth Olympic Qualification Event for Pan America completed in Chiclayo, Peru
After Africa and Asia, Pan America also organized and completed the Continental Qualification Event for the 1st Youth Olympic Games, Singapore. The Organizing Committee under the leadership of Mr. José Quiñones (President of the Weightlifting Federation and Olympic Committee of Peru) made a great job satisfying the needs of all the 17 participating countries. The IWF Team with the IWF TIS contributed to the efficiency and the success of the competitions.
Countries qualified in Chiclayo for the YOG (with 1 lifter each):
MEN: VEN, CUB, MEX, ECU,
WOMEN: MEX, VEN, ECU
