China and People’s Republic of Korea share medals out

Women’s 48kg

All competitors already finished their competition in the Snatch when the two Chinese lifters YU Linglong and QIU Liling came out for their first attempts. Very disciplined and showing an impressive technique, YU Linglong – only 13 years old – won 3 Gold Medals and ended with a Total of 173kg while QIU Liling with 171kg. Bronze Medal went to SUKCHAROEN Thunya from Thailand with 162kg.

Men’s 56kg

The Thai lifter SRIPHAT Teerasak was the only athletes in the Men’s 56kg to perform 6 good lifts. Only 5th after the Snatch, he won the Bronze in the Clean & Jerk and ended the competition with a Total of 235kg. NGUYEN Tran Anh Tuan (VIE), Silver Medallist in the Snatch couldn’t make it to the podium in the Total.

Third and fourth place in the Snatch went to lifters from group B. The Colombian SANCHEZ Nicolas won Bronze while 4th place went to Kazakh lifter KHASSAROV Timur.

The ranking determined by the Clean & Jerk stayed for the Total. MAYORA PERNIA Julio Ruben (VEN) won the Silver Medal with a Total of 231kg while VIZITIU Daniel Florin (ROU) won the Bronze.

Women’s 53kg

Women’s 53kg bodyweight category displayed an impressive and struggling fight between LIN Binglian (CHN) and RIM Un Sim (PRK). No one could take the lead on the podium. LIN won with a Total of 187kg lifting 1kg more in the Snatch and 1kg more in the Total than the lifter from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Bronze Medallist in the Snatch, the Venezuelan lifter ZABALA ZABALA Yorlis Yaidelyn lifted 10kg less than the Gold winner LIN.

Bronze Medallist in the Clean & Jerk and in the Total, GOMEZ Janeth (MEX) was only 8th after the Snatch, but could come back to the podium and ended with a Total of 167kg.

Men’s 62kg

The competition was highly competitive in the Snatch, while both KWON Yong Gwang (PRK) and EMAD GOUDA Ahmed (EGY) lifted 116kg. KWON won the Gold by bodyweight however in the Clean & Jerk he took the lead with 142kg. His Total was 6kg more than the Total of EMAD GOUDA winner of the Silver Medal. With a Total of 250kg, third place went to MAKEYEV Mikhail (KAZ).
