IWF satisfied with Glasgow2014 prospects

An IWF Technical visit was made in Glasgow, Scotland where the XX Commonwealth Games will be organized in 2014. Weightlifting, as a core sport on the program, will be held in the centre of the Games, in the iconic building of
Glasgow, the Armadillo.
During the busy two days of meeting Attila Adamfi, IWF Competition Director met David Grevemberg, CEO, Greg Warnecke, Head of Sport and Vicky Strange, General Manager, Sport Competition. Detailed discussions with Matthew Curtain, Weightlifting Competition Manager (recently appointed to Director of Sport of the CGF) and Moira Lassen, Weightlifting Competition Manager as of January 2014 (and IWF Executive Board member) included the competition and training venue, Sport Equipment, Results & Timing and Scoring, Transport, Press operations and TV broadcast, Technical Officials, volunteers and other funtional areas.
The IWF is convinced that Glasgow will deliver an outstanding Commonwealth Games and weightlifting will be one of the most successful sports.
