Dika Toua and Jenly Wini are the first female graduates in Oceania
Dika Toua from Papua New Guinea, Olympic Games representative 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, the 2006 Commonwealth Games silver medallist and eight times Oceania Champion , along with Jenly Wini from Solomon Islands, Oceania Champion in the 58kg category and 2012 Olympic representative, were presented the OWF Regional Coaching Diploma on Monday 20th January.
Both women attended a 12 months intensive coaching course at the Oceania Weightlifting Institute in New Caledonia funded by the IOC through Olympic Solidarity. In addition to studying the units of the course, Dika and Jenly had access to the training of all the elite lifters of the institute and on many occasions they were given the responsibility of monitoring their training. All candidates undertaking the coaching course at the Oceania Weightlifting Institute are encouraged to continue lifting, as they have a better understanding of the full requirements of coaching top athletes.
The IWF wants to congratulate to these talented athletes who ended successfully the training programme at the Oceania Weightlifting Institute (OWI) becoming the first female graduates in Oceania.
