2 Chinese lifters – 2 Chinese Golds and 2 Youth World Record broken

The Chinese lifter JIANG Huihua (CHN) won the first medal of the Nanjing 2014 YOG for China in the Women’s 48kg bodyweight category. Lifting a Total of 193kg, she topped the competition defeating all challengers. Both lifters ending on second and third place lifted 28kg less – 165kg – and the medals were awarded according to their respective bodyweight. Silver Medal went to RI Songgum (PRK) while the Bronze was awarded to KOHA Rebeka (LAT).

The second Chinese lifter MENG Cheng (CHN) lifted 20kg more in the Snatch securing his Gold with at least one successful Clean and Jerk attempt. He did even more! Spectators present at the Expo Center – competition venue of weightlifting at Nanjing 2014 – had the chance to see the first Youth World Record. MENG set it in the Clean and Jerk lifting 155kg. He also set a second one with his Total of 283kg.

Second place of the podium was once again won by bodyweight. The Vietnamese lifter NGUYEN TRAN Anh Tuan (VIE) lighter than the Uzbek ERGASHEV Adkhamjon (UZB) got Silver and Bronze accordingly for a Total of 243kg.
