Successful IWF Anti-Doping Seminar in Pyongyang

Dr. Patrick Schamasch, Anti-Doping Commission Chairman paid a visit to Pyongyang, capital city of North Korea to hold an IWF Education Seminar.

In presence of 40 attendees, coaches, doctors and officials, the Anti-Doping seminar took place on 22nd of September at the Sport Village.

The comprehensive presentation covered all areas of the IWF’s robust anti-doping fight with special attention to nutritional supplements and the specificities of the new Anti-Doping Policy.

Due to the entourage registration and complex result management procedures, the IWF’s Anti-Doping fight is stronger than ever.

A question and answer session concluded the two hours lecture, and Dr. Schamasch was happy to give broader views about questions of common interest like roles and responsibilities as well as rights.

This was the second Seminar held in North Korea in the past period, and prevention a main point of focus while the ADC gives special attention to the education of the athletes.
