Yvan Pierrot (MRI) passed away
It with great sorrow that we inform the Weightlifting Family about the tragic death of 19 year old weightlifter Mr. Pierrot Yvan, following a tragic car accident.
Yvan Pierrot had a very successful year in 2015 where he won 3 gold medals at the Indian Ocean Island Games in Reunion Island, 2 Bronze Medals at the All Africa Games in Congo Brazaville and 1 Gold in Junior and 1 Silver in Senior at the Commonwealth Championships in Pune.
He was an inspiration to many youngsters and had a very promising career.
The Mauritian Weightlifting Family and the Mauritian Sporting Community is devastated by this loss.
His Mother Ms. Preschilla Carreau is also an executive member of the Association and she is inconsolable.
The IWF presents its deep condolences to the Family of Mr. Pierrot as well as to the Mauritius Weightlifting Federation.
