Thai National Sports Day and Award Ceremony

Thai Amateur Weightlifting Assocation (TAWA) has been honored in receiving numerous outstanding awards presented by Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Sports & Tourism and Permanent Secretary of Sports & Tourism Ministry on December 16th, 2016 at Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT).  The following outstanding personalities awarded are members of our weightlifting family:

Outstanding Coach of the year
Lieutenant Commander Aree WIRATTHAWORN

Outstanding Foreign Coach of the year

December 16th is the national sports day in Thailand.  Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) being the main official entity to take lead of campaign activities significantly raised Thai people’s awareness on the importance of sport practice.  The Award Ceremony is organized every year on this day.  The national sports day is held to commemorate the outstanding day of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama 9) who won gold medal in sailing in 1967.
