Golds are for Asia

Women 48kg

HAN Jong Sim (PRK) won two Gold medals and a Silver one. In the Snatch she only reached 79kg – missing her attempt at 82kg – leaving the Gold Medal to HE Si (CHN).

The exact opposite happened in the Clean and Jerk, where HAN had three good lifts (97kg, 100kg, 102kg) and HE missed twice on 101kg.

Bronze Medallist ended far behind the leading duo with 23kg less in the Total.

BUACHATTURAT Chotima (THA) made it to 158kg wile Gold Medal HAN’s Total 181kg.     

Men 56kg

Taking the lead in the Snatch, CHEN Jian (CHN) missed the podium by only 1kg. Ranking 6th in the Clean and Jerk, he ended with a Total of 236kg and a 4th place. 

His Chinese team mate CHEN Maoran (CHN) came back from far and had to get to the top from his 5th place in the Snatch where he only lifted 106kg. His Clean and Jerk was much stronger and he defeated all the other competitors with his last lift at 135kg. This gave him just enough advantage in the Total – 1kg – where he finished first with 241kg. Three Silver Medals went to JEREMY Lalrinnunga (IND) earning the first medal for India at the competition. He was followed closely by TOPTAS Caner (TUR) winning three Bronze Medals with 109kg, 128kg, and a Total of 237kg.
