Iranian Davoudi won the superheavyweight

2016 Youth World Champion DAVOUDI Ali (IRI) had no challenger for the Junior World Champion title in the Men’s +105kg bodyweight category.

He came out at 181kg, 187kg and 192kg all good lifts, finishing with an amazing 15kg advantage over LALAYAN Varazdat (ARM), Silver Medallist at the 2016 European Youth Championships.

It proved to be impossible to get close to DAVOUDI in the Snatch. Bronze Medallist BUTT Muhammad Nooh Dastgir (PAK) made it to 171kg.

DAVOUDI had two good lifts in the Clean and Jerk at 221kg and 227kg lift, but his third attempt at 235kg proved to be too much for him. He still won the Gold Medal in the Total with 419kg, 20kg ahead of LAYALAN.

Third in the Clean and Jerk with 222kg, LAYALAN had a Total of 399kg just like BUTT.

BUTT Muhammad Nooh Dastgir (PAK), who took the Bronze Medal from this year’s Commonwealth Games managed to take the lead in the Clean and Jerk with a 228kg lift, won the Bronze Medal in the Total.
