Coach suspended for LIFE

Former Weightlifter and Coach Mr. SEVDALIN MARINOV has received LIFE sanction following the second offence of the Australian Weightlifting Federation Anti Doping Policy. The IWF strongly encourages all National Federations to continue testing and investigations and do NOT tolerate any kind of doping offences.

WADA’s Executive Committee future doping regulation plans

On the WADA Executive Committee meeting there were talks about: – Boosting the minimum doping bans from 2 years to maybe four and – Using only the A samples since the B samples seldom differ in results. A long discussion will follow and all related parties will be asked before the final decision reached.

Asian Games Doping News

IWF – DAGOC doping controls covered almost 50% of the weightlifting athletes who participated in Doha, Asian Games. The contracted WADA Accredited Laboratory reported 4 adverse analytical findings (positive cases) and the Olympic Council of Asia carried out the result management accordingly.
