Practised various sports, including football, yachting, basketball. National Champion in gymnastics.

  • One year as Associated Professor at the University of Physical Education.
  • In 1965, collaborator at the Department of Sports of the Hungarian Ministry of Sports and Physical Education.
  • From 1968 to 1983, General Secretary of the Hungarian Weightlifting Federation.
  • From 1983 to 1989, Vice-President of the Hungarian Ministry of Sports and Physical Education.
  • In 1989, elected as General Secretary of the independent Hungarian Olympic Committee.
  • Re-elected in this position for a third term until 2005.
  • Since 2006 the Honorary General Secretary of the Hungarian Olympic Committee
  • Since 1989, President of the Hungarian Olympic Academy.
  • Appointed Professor of the University of Physical Education of Budapest, lecturing and visiting Professor at the Faculty of Diplomatics and International Relations of the Budapest University of Economic Sciences.
  • Doctor Honoris Causa of the Sofia and Jerevan Academies of Physical Education, the Hanyang University in Seoul
