Referee Cards

International Referee cards, licences

At the request of the National Federations, the IWF issues Referee cards and licences valid for each Olympiad, up to the end of the next Olympic year. Referees who do not have a valid licence, cannot officiate at international events.

A NF can ask for promotion of a National Referee to an International Referee Category 2 under the conditions fixed in paragraph 7.5.28 of the IWF Technical and Competition rules. An International Referee of Category 2 can be promoted to Category 1 under the conditions in 25.8.29 of the IWF Rules.

The NF has to organize a practical and theoretical exam for the applicant, prove that it was successful by sending the test results to the IWF Secretariat. You can download the Referee Exam Questionnaires from the Download Centre of the IWF website.

Please send an official letter of your NF and the test results to Eva Balogh, IWF Office Manager by mail (eva.balogh@iwfnet.net) or post, she will check in the IWF registration if your request meets the IWF requirements or not.

We ask you to initiate payment only after the confirmation from the IWF. Please note that we cannot reimburse the fee in case you do not get the confirmation.
