Hall of Fame Member Imre Földi celebrates 75th birthday

Renowned Olympic champion of Hungary, Imre FÖLDI was honoured in a ceremony organised by his city and club Tatabánya on the occasion of his 75th birthday. Multiple world champion and world record holder (in 56 and 60kg) Imre FÖLDI held the unique record of altogether 5 Olympic Games participations, whereby after 2 silver medals, at the age of 34 years in 1972 Munich he finally arrived at the pinnacle of his career, the Olympic gold. FÖLDI was inaugurated in the IWF Hall of Fame in 1993 and also became one of Hungary’s exclusive society of only 10 Sportsmen of the Nation.

On behalf of Dr. Tamás Aján, IWF President, the Federation’s Director Anikó Németh-Móra presented a gift to the outstanding weightlifter.
