Final Entries for Ashgabat are up
The Final Entry List for the 2018 IWF World Championships Ashgabat, TKM has been published on our website.
As Qualification Event for the 2020 Olympic Games, this competition is the first important milestone on the road leading to Tokyo.
The Ashgabat Olympic Complex, Training Hall 2 will stage from 1-10 November the 84th Men’s and 27th Women’s World Championships.
The Verification of the Final Entries will set the final numbers on 30 October at 18:00, but according to the Final Entries, we have now 693 athletes from 91 countries who will compete in Ashgabat.
So far, Paris 2011 topped the number of participating countries with 87, and Athens 1999 topped the participating athletes with 626 lifters.
Considering the impressive figures, a Record number is announced for Ashgabat.
The 2018 IWF World Championships will also feature the new bodyweight categories for both Men and Women.
The list contains all the Athletes who were entered as possible participants for the Event, however the IWF retains the right to decide on the athletes’ and MFs’ eligibility in line with the respective IWF Rules and Regulations.
