ZHANG Wangli (CHN) took it all in the women’s 71kg

Just like in the 64kg, China won all three Gold Medals in the women’s 71kg. The 2016 Asian Champion, ZHANG Wangli got close to the World Standard with 115kg in the Snatch, but in the Clean and Jerk, after lifting 140kg, she set the World Record at 147kg, then 152kg. This meant she beat the Total World Standard too, with 262kg and 267kg. With 6 excellent lifts, she finished way ahead of her competitors.

Ending 15kg behind her, AHMED Sara Samir Elsayed Mohamed (EGY). The 2016 Olympic Bronze Medallist and Junior World Champion this year achieved a Junior World Record with her third lift in the Snatch (111kg) and kept up the great performance in the Clean and Jerk, with 136 and 141kg, which is the new Junior World Record. Moreover, she changed the order of the best Total results twice: 247 and 252kg.

Third in Total Kazakh LIKHACHEVA Nadezda with 242kg, who also won the Snatch Silver with 112kg.

ROGERS Martha Ann (USA), third on the 2017 World Championships claimed the Clean and Jerk Bronze Medal with a 133kg lift.
