Vladimir Saltykov passed away
Mr Vladimir Saltykov, Russian National Team Official suddenly passed away due to heart attack.
Mr Saltykov was born in 1955 and after graduating the Volgograd State Institute of Physical Culture in 1983, he dedicated his life to weightlifting and became one of the most diligent and capable documentarists of the sport. He was a reliable international technical official, jury member, referee and often contributed to major competitions as a knowledgable speaker.
His own magazine, Olymp is a leader in quality among weightlifting publications, thanks to the professional photos and exclusive interviews he made himself. Mr Saltykov documented and kept Russian weightlifting history alive from Soviet times to the present.
The weightlifting family lost a kind and devoted man too early. Condolences to the Russian Weightlifting Federation and the Saltykov family.
