LIAO cleaned World Record
LIAO Qiuyun (CHN) gained the World Champion title in the women’s 55kg bodyweight category on the third day of the World Championships in Pattaya. The Silver Medallist was ZHANG Wanqiong. The 2018 World Champion ZHANG finished at 99kg in the Snatch, cutting 1kg ahead of her compatriot, 2019 Asian Champion LIAO. In the Clean and Jerk, the table turned between the two, LIAO broke her own World Record and raised the bar from 128kg to 129kg, earning the gold for this lift and Total.
DIAZ Hidilyn, the most decorated lifter of the Philippines stood on the third podium, who was Silver Medallist at the Rio Olympic Games and has several Word Championship medals. Kazakh CHINSHANLO Zulfiya was a strong competitor for DIAZ, who ended up on the fourth place.
The audience saw an excellent performance from Columbian SINISTERRA TORRES Yenny, who set a new Junior World Record in the Clean and Jerk with 116kg.
