NATIONAL FIRSTS
She became the first female weightlifter to represent Georgia at the Olympic Games when she competed at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. She was also the first female Georgian weightlifter to win a medal at the European championships, claiming silver in the +75kg category at the 2016 edition in Forde, Norway. FROM UKRAINE TO GEORGIA
She represented Ukraine in weightlifting earlier in her career, but took the opportunity to start competing for Georgia following disagreements with the Ukrainian coaching staff.
