She took up weightlifting at age 10.
Why this sport?
She used to help her uncles put weights onto the weightlifting bar, and subsequently became interested in the sport. She was also inspired by watching Colombian weightlifter Maria Isabel Urrutia winning a gold medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

Injuries

In 2011, while pregnant with her first child, she suffered serious cuts to her left forearm after a window she was trying to close broke. She underwent five months of reconstructive treatment and was initially told she would be unable to return to weightlifting. MEDAL UPGRADE
She finished fourth in the 69kg event at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. In November 2016 she was upgraded to the bronze medal when in-competition doping samples were retested, and Ukrainian athlete Nataliya Davydova was disqualified when it was found she had tested positive for a prohibited substance. In January 2017 she was moved up to the silver medal when Chinese athlete Liu Chunhong's sample also came back positive and she was stripped of the gold medal.
