When and where did you begin this sport?
She took up weightlifting at age 19.
Why this sport?
She initially took part in athletics throwing events, but was told she was good at weightlifting when she was working out to improve her throwing. She initially did not enjoy the sport, but after taking part in some national competitions and qualifying for the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, VIC, Australia, she changed her mind. "I had the opportunity to meet high-level weightlifters and saw the sport differently. That is when I fell in love with weightlifting and it motivated me to go further."
