The IWF reports that as a consequence of the IOC's reanalyses of samples from the 2012 London Olympic Games, the samples of the following Athletes have returned Adverse Analytical Findings: AUKHADOV, Apti (RUS) - Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, Drostanolone (S1.1 Anabolic agents) KOSTOVA, Boyanka (AZE) - Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) PODOBEDOVA, Svetlana (KAZ) - Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) SAZANAVETS, Dzina (BLR) - Drostanolone, Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) SHKERMANKOVA, Maryna (BLR) - Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) KALINA, Yuliya (UKR) - Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (S1.1 Anabolic agents) ZHARNASEK, Yauheni (BLR) - Dehydrochlormethytestosterone, Stanozolol, Oxandrolone (S1.1 Anabolic agents) MANEZA, Maiya (KAZ) - Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) ILYIN, Ilya (KAZ) - Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) CHINSHANLO, Zulfiya (KAZ) - Oxandrolone, Stanozolol (S1.1 Anabolic agents) In line with the relevant rules and regulations, the IWF imposed mandatory provisional suspensions upon the Athletes, who remain provisionally suspended in view of potential anti-doping rule violations until their cases are closed. Following the IOC's decisions, the IWF will be in a position to take over the results management of these cases. The IWF will report the current standing of the Beijing reanalytical cases as soon as possible. Should it be determined in any of the cases that no anti-doping violation was committed, the relevant decision shall also be published. IWF statement on the reanalyzes

The IWF has been notified by the IOC regarding presumed Adverse Analytical Findings and Adverse Analytical Findings that resulted from the retesting of the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympic Games samples that also involves medal winners. The IWF closely cooperated with the IOC in the overall retesting procedure. As for Beijing, the results are qualified as presumed Adverse Analytical Findings, meaning that further analyses are currently done on the B samples. Should results be confirmed after these tests, IOC informs the IWF of the presence of Adverse Analytical Findings. The IWF was notified about 10 presumed Adverse Analytical Findings from 2008 Beijing. As for 2012 London, the procedure was slightly different from the one in Beijing and the IOC has informed IWF of the presence of 10 Adverse Analytical Findings. The IWF will follow the obligatory procedure set by its Anti-Doping Policy and by the WADA Code and proceed to the provisional suspension of the athletes as soon as the IOC procedures concluded. Another succesful Anti-Doping Seminar on the eve of the African Championships

Dr. Zakia Bartagi, IWF Anti-Doping Commission Member and Mr. Robert Ndjana, head of the National Anti-Doping Organization of Cameroon held a successful Anti-Doping Seminar in Yaoundé, Cameroon on 8th May 2016. The Seminar was created within the framework of the IWF Development Program and was organized in cooperation with the Weightlifting Federation of Africa. Dr. Bartagi and Mr. Ndjana spoke in front of more than 80 participants - among them Athletes, Coaches and Representatives of Weightlifting Federations of the African Continent. The presentations tackled the changes and challenges brought forward with the introduction of the 2015 World Anti-Doping Code and aimed to raise awareness of the Anti-Doping Rules that are most used in practice based on the experiences of the IWF. At the end of the Seminar the participants could put their newly gained knowledge to a test by filling the IWF Anti-Doping Quiz in English and French.
