IWF Anti-Doping Seminar in Tashkent
Under the framework of the IWF Development Program an IWF Anti-Doping Seminar was held in cooperation with the Asian Weightlifting Federation on the occasion of the Asian Continental Qualification Event in Tashkent. The Seminar was a great success, with more than 90 participants from 30 Asian Member Federations. The Anti-Doping Education is one of the top priorities of the IWF and the Anti-Doping Commission thus wishes to ensure the protection of the clean athletes on their road to Rio! The IWF Anti-Doping Commission Chairman Dr Patrick Schamasch gave a through explanation about the overall anti-doping system and called upon all the athletes and coaches to fulfil their responsibilities. UPDATES ON MELDONIUM
The IWF reports that samples of Ms. Hripsime Khurshudyan (ARM), Ms. Lyaysan Makhiyanova (RUS), Mr. Krzysztof Szramiak (POL) have returned an Adverse Analytical Finding for (S4.5.3 Hormone and metabolic modulators) meldonium. The IWF decided not to suspend the aforementioned Athletes provisionally. In any case where it is determined that the athletes did not commit an anti-doping rule violation, the relevant decisions will also be published. The IWF will not make any further comment on the cases until they are closed. In line with the applicable rules of the recently published WADA Notice on meldonium the IWF decided to lift the provisional suspension of Mr. Andrei Rybakov on the 12/04/2016. Due to the timing of the WADA Notice and taking into consideration the overall circumstances of the case, the IWF decided to assure Mr. Rybakov the possibility to participate in the Asian Championships. In individual cases with specific circumstances taking into consideration the rights of the athletes, the IWF might grant special participation permission at IWF Qualification Events.
PUBLIC DISCLOSURE – MODIFICATION
In line with the applicable rules of the recently published WADA Notice on meldonium the IWF decided to lift the provisional suspension of Mr. Andrei Rybakov (BLR) . The result management of his case is still ongoing therefore the IWF will not make any further comment on the case until it is

IWF Anti-Doping Seminar in Forde
